Tribal Fusion Style Bellydance can best be described as a stylistic evolution of Traditional Bellydance with an earthy dance vocabulary grounded in deep muscular control and isolation, favouring a classical and "antique" aesthetic with its costuming.

Apollonia Tribal Fusion Bellydance is the vision of life long professional dancer and choreographer Róisín Corrigan along with long time performing artist Aoife Hardiman . These ladies specialise in live performances at Gigs, Music Festivals, Theatre, live shows, weddings and Corporate Events both at home and internationally. Róisín is also responsible as curator and producer of the phenomenally successful "Apollonia Presents ... A Night of International Dance" nights at Dublin's exclusive Odessa Club, and together with Aoife offers Teaching and Workshops in Tribal Fusion Style Bellydance. Róisín's style is a mixture of her classical training in Egyptian, Turkish, Lebanese fused with a distinctive 'street' influence, focusing heavily on 'locking and popping', spins, deeply muscular 'serpentine arms' and power shimmies.

Through Apollonia TFBD the girls can offer something completely different, and push the boundaries from all sides to bring something new to the table. Their dream has been realized and will continue to evolve and inspire!

Aside from coordinating guest appearances and workshops, she is also the founder of “Hip Circles Bellydance School” with main style of teaching inspired by Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Even thought Middle Eastern origins are the basis of her bellydance, her desire is to enhance this dance form by fusing new aspects of the world's cultures and their diversity of movements, as well as the individual expressions of each student. For this reason, her troupe performs an eclectic mix of Tribal with the spice of Balkan Gypsy/Arabic Fusions and the sauciness of Latin-Brazilian styles (ie. tango, samba, flamenco, pop, afro-axe, burlesque/cabaret and much more!) A carnival of props including veils, swords, zills, wings, skirts, candles, boas, sticks, fans, hats, canes and spells! Suadela Bellydance is a 7 piece bellydance troupe from Cork. We perform a blend of Tribal Fusion and American Tribal Style. Our troupe was drawn together in 2011 from different backgrounds in bellydance and we work together as a collective of dancers, each member adding to the group collaboration.

We perform at shows, haflas and festivals both abroad and at home. We are always delighted to share our passion and love for the dance, which has taken us abroad to receive teaching from some of the world's best bellydancers, such as Rachel Brice, Samantha Emmanuel, Moria Chappell, Kami Liddle and Sharon Kihara.

As we dance both American Tribal Style and Tribal Fusion style, our repertoire consists of both improvised and choreographed performances. American Tribal Style is unique in that it is an improvised group format and each improvised dance is created in the moment as we connect with each other, the music and the audience. No two performances are alike! Our choreographed performances combine our American Tribal Style vocabulary with Tribal Fusion, which represents everything from folkloric inspired dances to a fusion of ancient dance techniques from North India, the Middle East, Spain and Africa and cross over styles which explore modern, jazz, dance theatre, and hip hop.

Our costumes, which are mostly handmade, draw influences from many ethnic backgrounds and modern dance and trends. We dance to music from around the world, both traditional and modern, we will dance to anything we can shake our hips to! We also love to dance to live music and regularly collaborate with bands. We have performed in Cork and around the country with touring and local bands, and currently collaborate with The Art Crimes Band to create a 2 hour theatre show which we have performed in various venues and festivals in Cork.

In Roman mythology Suadela was the goddess of persuasion. We believe that bellydance unlocks the inner goddess and nourishes the feminine spirit. Bellydance celebrates the female form in all its beautiful shapes and sizes, inspires positive self image and creates community among women. It is a celebration of the female and of a strong, supportive, dynamic group of women, who enjoy dancing with each other and having fun! Our connection and rapport is evident in our performances and creates a positive and proud display of femininity and friendship.

Hi, I’m Valerie Larkin, based here in Dublin, Ireland. I am a highly trained and qualified dancer specialising in Bellydance: Egyptian {Baladi, Saidi, Classical and Veil}, Turkish, Greek, Gulf, Brazilian, Arab Andalusian, Tunisian, Persian, Flamenco and Sevillanas. I am also a Free-Lance Actress.

I am the founder and Artistic Director of Bellydance Ireland, which offers a top professional dance troupe, choreography, tuition and an exclusive range of costumes all designed by me.

I perform at corporate events, festivals, exhibitions, parties including children’s birthdays, special events in Ireland and abroad. My dancing has taken me to Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Greece, Brazil and the UK. I trained for many years in classical ballet, jazz ballet and international folk dance as a result I am self-motivated and disciplined. I qualified as a dance teacher and have been a member of the International Dance Teachers Association {I. D. T. A.} and more recently the Association of Professional Dancers in Ireland {A. P. D. I.}.

I am also a full member of Irish Actors Equity and for many years have been elected onto the Dance and Variety Committee of this organisation. I have also trained as a singer and have some knowledge of Irish, French and Arabic. I believe I am highly photogenic in print and on screen.

I have been dancing all my life. It is my passion: from the cradle to the grave!

I was a member of the tribal bellydance troupe "Akasha" that performed around Ireland and in France.

I first started teaching tribal bellydance 5 years ago in the West Cork area. I find it really inspiring to see the uniqueness that each woman or girl brings to the dance and to help them explore their gifts and weaknesses further to produce something that is empowering to each person. I also love the fact that this way of dancing helps us to reconnect with each other on an intuitive level, like birds in flight. This has led to the development of my new troupe "Birds of a Feather" who have been performing the funky fusion show "Metamorphosis" around Cork and Kerry. This includes veils, isis wings, pois, martial arts, purple fairies and much more!

My main motivation is the transformation that I see happening in the lives of the dancers as they become more in touch with their feminine power and sensuality: also the fun and laughs that we have together.
